No progress…

Hey, we’re back, and mostly recovered from our festival week! So much fun. Great people, great music, great weather, great food! I’m happy to say I had a much easier time getting around and keeping my energy levels up this year, due to being at least 20 lbs lighter than I was at this time last year. Even that modest amount of weight loss made a huge difference in my ability to enjoy myself.

We did OK with our food choices. We grabbed dinner each night from a Meditteranean food vendor who offered a chicken and vegetable gyro that was very fresh and tasty! the wrap was a bit thicker than what we usually eat, so not sure if that put us over our usual daily limit. It wasn’t enough to give me any kind of carb hangover, so I guess it wasn’t too bad.

The cold brew iced coffees with cream were fantastic! They were a smooth and refreshing way to start each hot summer day.We had to be careful not to over-caffeinate however, they went down so well! We made sure to dilute with water in addition to the ice and cream.

I am sad to report that even with all of the extra walking I did last week, I did not lose any weight. I blame lack of sleep, and the extra cocktails that I consumed for that. From my reading on the diet Doctor site, I know that my body will always burn the alcohol for energy first, before turning to fat, and I guess I provided plenty of energy that way – haha!

On the bright side, I did not gain any weight. So, I will just pick up from here: get back on track and try to get those numbers headed downward again!
